Ok so things have been a little crazy with the holidays right around the corner, but this gloomy, “winter” weather has actually been really nice. Since we are both swamped with work and school, not having it be warm and sunny outside definitely helps us concentrate.
I celebrated my brother’s 21st birthday this weekend and below is what I wore out to dinner, minus the shoes (paired the outfit with my favorite lace up Schutz heels). I was really feeling this long sleeve black dress because it can be dressed up or down. The wrapping at the bottom helps lengthen my legs so they appear a little longer! Since its been cooler, it seemed appropriate to add a fur vest. Not only is it great for warmth, but helped make the outfit more casual. And lastly, my FAVORITE Nike Frees seemed like the perfect shoe to go with this causal, fun outfit. As I said above, adding a heel completely changes the look of the outfit so it really depends on the occasion.
Happy Monday! We hope you have a great week!

Shearling is this Fall and Winter’s hot new trend and we are ALL about it. Shearling is a great addition to your jackets, vests, boots and even some accessories such as headbands and ear muffs. We love that Shearling gives outerwear a rugged and outdoors feel. It truly is the perfect addition to any winter accessory (not to mention it is totally and completely warm).
We also love the Shearling looks stunning on everything- literally everything. A little pop on your favorite pair or booties, or an outer trim detail on a bag o, Shearling is the perfect fur addition to all your warmer wear pieces. Of all the wonderful Shearling pieces, coats have to be our absolute favorite- from a moto leather jacket with Shearling trim or a simple denim jacket with a chic Shearling collar, they are the perfect investment piece for winter (um, we know what’s on our Christmas List)!
We can’t get enough of this fun trend- share with us some of your favorite Shearling items below!
PS. We both love animals (like a lot, have you seen how many pics we post of dogs on instagram?!?) so we encourage you to buy vegan when you can!
XO & Happy Hump Day- Lauren & Danielle
We cannot be the only ones that feel like life gets 10x more crazy after Halloween- we’re not sure if it’s the onset of the Holidays or just the fact we are in a coma from all the candy we ate during Halloween, but it’s been nonstop lately. Between work and school Lauren and I have had the most insane couple of weeks! Regardless, we are back from our small hiatus!
Last weekend, my Grandparents celebrated their 60th (yes, wow!) Wedding Anniversary and I wore this great tunic to their party. I love this tunic. Well really, I enjoy tunics in general which is a little ironic considering most tunics are basically a dress on me because I’m so short. This tunic, from Free People, is one of my favorites because it’s so lightweight- which makes it a perfect layering piece for winter and fall. Additionally, it has a great shape and I love the turtleneck detail as well (great neckline for chunky jewelry!).
Have a great week! XO Danielle & Lauren
P.S. It’s finally starting to feel like fall here in California… :)

To celebrate Halloween (one of our favorite holidays) I thought I would take a little trip to the pumpkin patch to get into the spirit. I have so many childhood memories of getting to pick out my own pumpkin that I carved once I got home. Even though I am a little older now (and maybe too old to be at the patch without a child?) I picked out my own unique pumpkin and am working on decorating it so I can enjoy it before Halloween.
The weather here is still pretty hot, so I couldn’t wear all my warm, cozy, fall clothing, but tried to make it feel like fall with booties and a flannel. These suede Sam Edelman booties are probably one of my favorite pair of boots because they are comfortable and have sassy fringe on the side. They are also easy to dress up (dress to dinner) or down (pumpkin patch).
Right now I am all about flannels and plaid print. There is something about the boyfriend fit that I am obsessed with. I try to make it feminine by layering it under a fitted sweater, or tying it around my waist if it’s too hot. I have also been noticing some really cute silk blouses in this print (check out Lovers+Friends on Revolve Clothing). Try pairing this print with a skirt and booties for Fall!
We would love to hear what everyone is dressing up as for Halloween! Enjoy your last week of October!

As some of you might know from our Instagram (@_WAiSTEDD), I visited Seattle last week for a quick little get-away. Danielle and I both love to travel and when we can’t get away to some of our favorite spots/bucket list places (Italy, Caribbean, Bali, Croatia…the list goes on and on) we think taking little trips around the area can be just as adventurous and fun!
A few family and friends suggested I visit Seattle. Before I went, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I had only heard about Pike’s Market and the cloudy weather. To my surprise, Seattle has SO much more to offer! The first great thing about it was the weather. I am not complaining about the weather in California, but sometimes 80 degrees in October can be a little much. There hasn’t been a transition to Fall yet, so visiting a place where it was a little cooler with fall colors was a great change of pace. Everywhere we went there was beautiful nature- so different than what we see in the Bay Area!
As lame as this may sound, the tourist attractions in Seattle were totally fun! The most famous, Seattle Space Needle gave a great view of the city and was a short ride to the top. You can sit up there and have a drink (wine, beer etc) and sit at a table. Since the top rotates (at a slow pace don’t worry!) you can see the whole 360 view. There also is the Pike’s Place Market, which has an amazing assortment of fresh fish, vegetables, and fruit. It also has a beautiful selection of flowers! I also saw breathtaking flowers at the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum (in the fourth picture below). There were massive pieces of beautifully crafted glass of all types of colors and shapes. Chihuly’s (the artist) artwork is all over the world- we even have some in Downtown San Jose. Lastly, the Experience Music Project (EMP Museum) was SO FUN! It has exhibits on horror films (appropriate for Halloween), fantasy (Harry Potter, Game of Thrones), Jimi Hendrix, and pop culture (including BEYONCE!). It was really refreshing and a museum people of all ages could enjoy!
Besides the tourist attractions, Seattle is full of quirky neighborhoods full of great places to eat and eclectic boutiques. I went to so many Happy Hours with local wine (which was very good!) and fresh ingredients. Almost all the restaurants had gluten free and vegan options which was refreshing and interesting to try. And of course the coffee was AMAZZINNGGGG. I had too many cups each day (not sorry). To go along with the coffee, Top Pot Doughnuts did not disappoint, nor did the many bakeries!
If you are looking for a quick trip, I would definitely suggest Seattle. It is a great city to explore, and did I mention, the flagship Nordstrom is there? Enough said…
Yesterday, my Family did a Sunday dinner in Santana Row at Foga de Chao which is a Brazilian Steakhouse. I’ve heard so many great things about it and let me tell you it absolutely lived up to its expectation! The waiters bring around huge slabs of all kinds of meat (sounds weird and creepy- it’s totally delicious) and have an amazing salad bar and sides- absolutely a must try! It was so nice to have a Sunday night dinner with my Family- I have been trying to do something fun on Sunday night because I think it helps when gearing up to face another week! Definitely a de-stressor.
For the dinner, I wore a leather mini paired with a flannel and wedge sneakers. Both Lauren and I have been obsessed with leather for quite some time and thankfully for us, it has become such a hot item in the fashion world. Leather is in jackets, pants, skirts, vests, tops- you name it! Now that it’s starting to cool off, it’s the perfect time to either invest in leather pieces or break out the classics you already have in your closet.
I’m absolutely and totally obsessed with this leather mini from Trouve I bought last week at Nordstrom (I think I say that about a lot of clothes, but really this skirt is so bomb)- it has a perfect fit and the drawstring makes it look sporty chic. I love the mini because 1. It’s not too short/ inappropriate so I can wear it to dinner and still feel classy 2. I can dress it down with a casual tank and sneakers for a day off work or when I’m running errands. Leather just brings a total edge to any outfit and is such a fun texture to pair with!
My adorable fam (minus my Dad who was the photographer of the night!)
